Catching up with some My Scraps pages + a Sketch-a-thon!

Happy Weekend, scrappy friends!  I hope you're having a great day so far.  I have three pages to share today that I created for various challenges at My Scraps and More.  It gets so busy during the week that I just don't have time to post them every day.  So today is a catch-up day :)

First off, I wanted to let you know about the March Sketch-a-thon going on right now over on the message boards.  A brand new sketch will go up every day this month.  You can play along with us as much as you like for a chance to win a great prize!  I created sketches myself for this event, and I can't wait to share them with you!  I think it's my new obsession :)

Now...onto my pages for today.  This one went up on the blog last week, and it was for a {color}challenge.  I was inspired by the colors in the new MME Notable range (Collectable line).  The aquas, oranges & yellows are just so beautiful.  So I created this...I started out by using an old journaling template and some modeling paste to create those lines in the background.  Quick and easy way to make some texture!  Those Thickers are some I've had for years...they match perfectly with these papers.

This page was made for last week's {play}challenge, which was to choose a shape and repeat it throughout your page.  I chose hearts.  I cut the background on my Cameo and then used some of the cut-out shapes on other parts of the layout.  This picture of Paige is funny to me...with her crazed smile, messy hair and raised eyebrow, she reminds me of Jack Nicholson in The Shining when he says, "Heeere's Johnny!"  Haha!  That's where my title came from...her little nickname is Pippy :)

I used more of the new MME for this one...but a different range.  This one is mostly from the Remarkable range.  I added in a bit of stitching and some buttons & washi tape to finish it off.

My final page for today went up on the blog today.  This one uses only paint, washi tape & stamps as the primary components.  The only paper I used was the background and the die-cut hearts.  The rest is all new MME washi tape from the various new lines.  I didn't realize how much I'd love the days of the week tape...so cool!  My favorite thing about this page is that I just started painting, stamping & sticking...no rhyme or reason.  I love the messy factor and the randomness of it all.  I used the leftover heart die-cut from the above layout as a mask to create the hints of hearts on the page.  I used orange ink & just lightly brushed it over the mask.

You can get all of these new MME products in the My Scraps store right HERE.  I highly suggest making a page just out of washi tape...it's so fast & easy....and fun!

Thank you so much for stopping by today....I hope you have an awesome weekend!
